Left Handers have much to celebrate here in Niwot. Our town was named after Chief Niwot, whose name translates to "Left Hand" in the Arapaho language. It's only fitting that we embrace a holiday that celebrates our namesake. International Left Handers Day is August 13th and we intend to make this an out of the ordinary celebration for years to come!

International Left Handers Day was started on August 13, 1976 (Wikipedia). The organization that started Left Handers Day is now defunct, so not much is known about the past 34 years of celebrations. We pick up where they left off!
