Nostalgia Day and Parade - Saturday, Sept 10th, 2011
“Celebrating Our Native Heritage” - Every year, Niwot celebrates its heritage and pays tribute to everyone and everything that makes Niwot a great place to live and play. It all kicks off with a pancake breakfast at 7:30am at Niwot Market, and the fun doeesn't stop until 10:00pm with the Nacho Men! Of course, there will be food, a parade, art, and vendors on 2nd Avenue. There will be book signings and a Native American film screening at the Left Hand Grange. And the bike tunnel dedication and 5 Buck Duck race will take place on Niwot Rd. and Sawtooth at 2 p.m. - don't miss the fun!
Daytime Festivities
7:30 – 10:00 am: Pancake Breakfast at
Niwot Market
8:30 – 9:30 am: Music by Niwot Community Semi-Marching Free Grange Band
9:30 – 2:30 pm: Vendor (Artists, Local Organizations & Local Businesses) and Food Booths Open for Business!
10:00 – 10:45 am: Nostalgia Day Parade through Old Town and along Niwot Road
10:00 am – 5:00 pm: Niwot Shops Open
11:00 – 12:30 pm: Local Musical Groups
11:00 – 2:00 pm Activities in the Grange including Native American Film Festival, and book signings by Margaret Coel and Anne Dyni
2:00 pm: Pedestrian Tunnel Mural Dedication and 5 Buck Duck Race at Niwot Road and Sawtooth Lane
Evening Activities
5:30 – 10:00 pm: Restaurants and Food Booths Open in Cottonwood Square
5:45 – 6:45 pm: Bassline Band in Cottonwood Square
7:00 – 10:00 pm: Nacho Men in Cottonwood Square
